OSCE Ambassador Brian Aggeler
Brian Aggeler has been the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Ambassador and Head of Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina since October 2022. He oversees a staff of over 300 at headquarters in Sarajevo and in eight field offices across the country, advancing the Mission’s mandate to help build a stable, secure, and democratic state. Previously he served as Charge’ d’affairs and Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Paris, France; Director of Office of Assistance Coordination , U.S. Dept. of State’s Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs coordinating all U.S. government assistance to the Middle East; other tours include Delhi, Chennai, Budapest, Ouagadougou. Before joining the Foreign Service, he was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Central Africa Republic. He is married to Angela Aggeler, U.S. Ambassador to North Macedonia. Their daughter, Madeleine, is a freelance writer in Washington, D.C.
U.S. Ambassador Angela Price Aggeler
Ambassador Aggeler, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service (SFS) with the rank of Minister Counselor, is the Ambassador to the Republic of North Macedonia. Previously, she served as Chargé d’affaires ad interim for U. S. Mission Pakistan. Ms. Aggeler has also served as the Minister Counselor for Public Affairs at U.S. Embassy Paris; the Acting Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs and Office of the Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Press and Public Diplomacy. From 2013 to 2015, she was the Counselor for Public Affairs at U.S. Embassy Islamabad. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Ms. Aggeler served for the State Department in Burkina Faso, Hungary, and India.
