Arthur I. Cyr has taught at the Universities of Chicago and Illinois, Northwestern University and Carthage College, where he was Director and the A.W. and Mary Margaret Clausen Distinguished Professor of Political Economy and World Business. (A.W. Clausen was former President of the Bank of America and The World Bank.) Dr. Cyr previously served as President of the Chicago World Trade Center, Vice President Chicago Council on Foreign Relations, faculty member and administrator at UCLA, and an executive at the Ford Foundation.
Dr. Cyr is a graduate of UCLA; received Ph.D. with distinction from Harvard where he was a Frank Knox fellow in England; a member Phi BETA Kappa. Author of four books, his articles are published in foreign policy journals, and a range of newspapers and associated venues, as well as a weekly news and opinion column. He is a board member of Japan-American Society of Chicago; member, Council on Foreign Relations; International Institute for Strategic Studies; Royal Institute of International Affairs & Royal US Institute.
Dr. Cyr’s weekly editorials on national and international topics are featured in the Santa Barbara News Press Weekend Edition.
