About the event
The Trump administration has introduced a new approach to using tariffs, claiming at various times that they will drive inward investment and American jobs, raise revenue to eliminate the national debt, and increase national security. In the past six months, we've seen a chaotic approach to threatening, applying, then renegotiating dramatically different costs for selling goods to America. Is it paying off? Is a viable strategy in place or are we turning our allies against us? Will everything we buy cost more? And is it even legal?
Join Channel City Club's Board Director Daniel Crocker for an intimate discussion of this situation. He is a former senior U.S. Department of Commerce official and diplomat who led teams in defending and advancing U.S. economic security in Washington, DC, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, and Panama. Prior to his two decades with government agencies, he worked in the oil and gas industry, tier one automotive manufacturing, and tech startups. He holds engineering, business, and foreign affairs degrees from Princeton, MIT, and the University of Virginia. Currently he is senior counselor at Veracity Worldwide, a strategic advisory firm headquartered in New York City with offices in London, Tokyo, and Melbourne.
